本校生徒が、台湾国際交流プログラムに参加しました！
世界と出会い、未来が動き出す。
― 台湾・高雄市 国際交流プログラム参加レポート ―
「甲陵高校から、世界へ。」
本校生徒が、山梨県内高校生を台湾・高雄市へ派遣し、
現地高校生との交流を通して国際理解を深め、グローバル人材を育成する
「小佐野記念財団高校生国際交流事業」という国際交流プログラムに参加しました。
今回紹介するのは、その選考を通過した一人の生徒です。

出身中学校：長坂中（北杜市）
「日本と台湾をつなぐ架け橋になりたい」
将来の夢は外交官。
日本と世界をつなぐ存在になるため、台湾での学びを選びました。
東日本大震災の際、台湾から寄せられた253億円もの支援。
その背景にある“人と人との絆”を、現地で確かめたい――
それが参加の原動力でした。
学校交流から始まる国際理解 ― 高雄市 学校訪問 ―
台湾第二の港湾都市・高雄を訪れ、
中山高級工商職業学校との学校交流を行いました。
高雄へは、 日本の新幹線技術が初めて海外に輸出された
台湾高速鉄道（THSR）を利用しました。
車内の様子は日本の新幹線とよく似ており、
日本と台湾のつながりを身近に感じる機会となりました。
学校では、クラスで歓迎会が開かれ、
台湾の生徒たちはダンスや歌で私たちを温かく迎えてくれました。
私たちもお礼としてアメリカのポップソングやラップを披露し、
教室は拍手と笑顔に包まれました。
「言葉が十分に通じなくても、
音楽を通して心が通じ合うことを実感した瞬間でした。」
また、街ではセブンイレブンや日本のアニメキャラクターなど、
日本文化が台湾の若者にとって身近な存在であることにも気づきました。
こうした共通点が、自然な交流のきっかけとなっています。
今回の学校交流を通して、
国際交流の原点は「お互いを知り、仲良くなること」にあると感じました。
忘れられない3日目
― ホストブラザー・サヤトとの出会い ―
3日目は、ホームステイ先のホストブラザー・サヤトと高雄市内を観光。
日本のアニメや漫画が大好きで、日本語・英語・中国語・台湾語を操るマルチリンガルです。
流暢な日本語で通訳をしてくれるサヤトの姿に、
「とても心強く、同時にとてもかっこいいと感じました。」
“言葉で人をつなぐ”その姿は、将来像と重なりました。
「街全体が、美術館だった」
訪れたのは、世界で最も美しい駅の一つといわれる美麗島駅。
巨大なステンドグラスアート「光之穹頂」は、今も心に残る光景です。
さらに、日本統治時代の倉庫を活用した芸術特区では、
アートが日常に溶け込む高雄の街の魅力を体感しました。
帰国後も続く、本物の学び
『帰国後は、SSH（スーパーサイエンスハイスクール）探究活動で
「若者の政治参加」と「安全保障」をテーマに研究を進めたい！』
台湾総統選挙の投票率は71.86％。（日本の国政選挙の投票率は、40％後半から50％前半）
この数字が、社会と向き合う姿勢の違いを問いかけてくれました。
世界に出るからこそ、自分が見える
「日本の“当たり前”は、世界の当たり前ではありませんでした。」
この気づきが、生徒の視野を大きく広げました。
本校の国際交流は、
世界を見る学びであり、自分を見つける学びです。
次に世界へ踏み出すのは、あなたかもしれません。
Meeting the World, Shaping the Future
— A Student’s Experience in the Taiwan International Exchange Program —
“Our journey to the world starts here.”
Our high school takes part in an international exchange program in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.
This program(supported by Osano Memorial Foundation) sends high school students from Yamanashi to Taiwan and helps them deepen international understanding with local students.
The goal is to develop students who can think globally and act positively in the future.
Here is the story of one student who joined this program.
Grade: First-year student
Clubs: UNESCO Club, Student Council, The Band Club
Committee: International Exchange Committee
Junior High School: Nagasaka Junior High School ( Hokuto City )
“I Want to Be a Bridge Between Japan and Taiwan”
The student joined the program with a clear dream.
In the future, the student wants to become a diplomat and connect Japan with other countries.
One reason the student chose Taiwan was the strong relationship between Japan and Taiwan.
After the Great East Japan Earthquake, Taiwan gave Japan a lot of support, totaling 25.3 billion yen.
“I felt that the relationship between Japan and Taiwan is supported not only by politics, but also by warm human bonds.”
The student wanted to experience this relationship directly in Taiwan.
International Understanding Through School Exchange
— A School Visit to Kaohsiung City, Taiwan —
Students from our high school visited Kaohsiung, the second largest port city in Taiwan,
and took part in a school exchange with Zhongshan Senior Industrial and Commercial Vocational High School.
To travel to Kaohsiung, we used the Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR),
which was the first overseas project using Japan’s Shinkansen technology.
The inside of the train was very similar to that of the Shinkansen in Japan,
and it helped us feel the close connection between Japan and Taiwan.
At the school, a welcome party was held in the classroom.
The Taiwanese students warmly welcomed us with dances and songs.
In return, we sang American pop songs and rap music,
and the classroom was filled with applause and smiles.
Even though we could not communicate well in Chinese,
we felt that our hearts were connected through music.
In the city, we also noticed that Japanese culture,
such as Seven-Eleven stores and Japanese anime characters,
is familiar to young people in Taiwan.
These common interests became a natural starting point for international interaction.
Through this school exchange,
we learned that the starting point of international exchange
is simply getting to know each other and becoming friends.
An Unforgettable Third Day
— Meeting the Host Brother, Sayato —
On the third day, the student visited the center of Kaohsiung City with the host brother, Sayato.
Sayato has a Japanese name because he loves Japanese anime and manga and is very interested in Japanese culture.
His Japanese was very fluent, and he often helped as an interpreter when talking with the host family.
He can speak Taiwanese, Chinese, Japanese, and English.
“For me, Sayato was very reliable and also very cool.”
Through him, the student learned how language can connect people.
“The City Itself Was Like a Museum”
They visited Formosa Boulevard Station, which is known as one of the most beautiful stations in the world.
Inside the station, there is a huge stained-glass artwork called Dome of Light.
The colorful lights were very impressive and are still unforgettable.
They also visited an art district where old warehouses from the Japanese colonial period were changed into art spaces.
There, the student came to realize why Kaohsiung is called “a city like a museum.”
Learning Continues After Returning to Japan
After returning to Japan, the student plans to use this experience in SSH research activities.
“I would like to study young people’s political participation and national security.”
The voter turnout in Taiwan’s recent presidential election was 71.86%, which is much higher than in Japan.
This made the student think seriously about how young people should take part in society.
Going Abroad Helps Us Understand Ourselves
“What was normal in Japan was not always normal in the world.”
Through this exchange program, the student learned to see things from different points of view.
This program is not just about going abroad.
It is about meeting new people, understanding the world, and finding your future.
